In the Talkspace blog, Alicia Winkle (5 years as therapist) was asked a series of questions relating to depression and therapy. She became a therapist in order to help people deal with their own obstacles. She realized this was what she wanted to do after she had her own obstacles, which led her to drop out of her previous field of study, nursing.
